New Tennis Court Coloring

  1. Construct expansion joints in the new blacktop.
  2. Clean the courts of dirt and debris.
  3. In order to provide a smooth, dense underlayment coating, apply black acrylic resurfacer over the entire court surface. This material is designed for tennis courts and running tracks; it is not merely a driveway sealer.
  4. Apply two coats of colored tennis court sealer. The material is to be machine agitated in order to achieve a uniform texture and color. The material is to be applied in accordance with manufacturer's instructions by skilled laborers in a workmanlike manner.
  5. Paint masked regulation playing lines.
  6. Minor scuffing of a new color surface is quite common. For this reason we always leave a small amount of color surfacing material for the owner to touch-up these minor blemishes.
  7. We cannot be responsible for any coating failures due to earthworm decay, animal or insect droppings or any other Acts of God beyond our control.
  8. Bergman Companies, Inc. crews have completed work on over 1,000 tennis courts.

Tennis Court Renovation

  1. Use power scrubber to remove all the loose material.
  2. Patch the low spots. This is the most difficult part of the tennis court surfacing process. We do the best job we can, but we do tell our customers in advance that we will not be able to eliminate all the water. We cannot guarantee that the birdbaths will be gone completely. Tennis facilities normally have a rubber squeegee on hand to clean the water from these birdbaths before starting play after a rain.
  3. Clean out and fill the cracks with rubberized crack filler. It should be noted that regardless of the number of coats or type of crack filler applied, the cracks will reappear. Due to the great fluctuations in temperature throughout the year in this part of the country, these reoccurring cracks will be yearly problem.
